Early Childhood Support Communication Skills and Vocabulary Development

At the beginning of the year, Victoria struggled with communication. She started the year without being able to communicate properly with her teachers and would only cry or stomp her feet to show us that something was wrong. As part of our curriculum, we have focused on social emotional learning, and have taught her different ways to breathe, calm down, and several communication techniques throughout the year. Victoria is now able to pause, take a breath and tell a teacher HOW she is feeling. She is using language she has learned to successfully express herself at home and in the classroom. After returning from winter break, Victoria stepped up as a leader in the classroom! She has started to help other students on ways to communicate when they feel frustrated. We are so excited to see what wonderful progress Victoria will continue to make in the coming months, and in Kindergarten next year!
